Questions about creating an own brand

Direct answers on minimums, budgets, timing, rights, factories and what happens if a stage goes wrong.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order for an own-brand product?

Usually 300–1 000 units per product in a first order, but this varies strongly by category. White label can be lower and custom tooling higher. Often, the printed packaging rather than the product sets the true minimum, so always request both figures.

What budget do I need to create a brand?

There is no single figure, as the total depends on category, markets, order size and packaging. Most of it usually goes to third parties, especially the factory. Our cost page explains the split, and the calculator estimates the cash for a first batch.

Can you work with a small budget?

Sometimes, for a single stage such as a business case or naming. If the money would not cover a batch and a launch, we tell you and suggest a smaller test, such as pre-orders or white label. A project that runs out of cash halfway helps no one.

How long does the whole process take?

Usually 6–12 months from brief to first sales. New tooling, several markets and regulated products extend it. See what decides timing for each stage. Be wary of anyone promising a finished physical brand within days.

Who owns the brand, the designs and the specifications?

You do. The contract assigns the name, design files and specifications to you under its stated conditions, and trademarks are filed in your company’s name. Factory-owned base designs in white label or ODM work remain a separate matter, so we set out exactly what each contract covers.

Will you tell me who the factory is?

Yes. Once a factory is selected, you receive its name, documents and the specification, so you are able to continue without us. While we are comparing candidates, a confidentiality agreement may limit what is shared.

Can we sign an NDA before I share my idea?

Yes. We can sign an NDA before you share details. Bear in mind that an NDA with us does not bind the factories, so we arrange suitable confidentiality terms with them before passing on anything truly original.

Do you register trademarks?

Licensed attorneys file them in your company’s name, and we coordinate the search and the country plan. Nobody can honestly promise registration: offices may object, and owners of earlier rights may oppose. Screening reduces this risk without removing it.

What happens if a stage fails?

We present the problem and options at the gate: fix it, change the plan or stop. A failed lab test goes back to the factory. A blocked name returns to the shortlist. Extra costs, such as a new test, are shown before you approve them.

Can I stop in the middle of the project?

Yes. You can stop at any gate and pay only for the completed stages, and you keep their results. Any third-party commitments you have already made, such as a placed factory order, follow those contracts.

Can I order only one stage?

Yes. You can buy naming, assortment planning or compliance mapping by itself. We need enough information from the previous stage to do it well, so a short review of what you have may come first.

Do you handle regulated categories like cosmetics, food or supplements?

Yes, with selected contract manufacturers and licensed specialists, and with more time and testing. We cannot act as the regulated party, and some product types we may decline. See categories for what each one involves, and treat what is said there as general information.

Do you work with sanctioned countries or parties?

No. We are an EU company bound by EU sanctions and export rules. We check the parties, goods and destinations in a project, and we decline where restrictions apply. That can apply to a buyer, a factory or a route, as well as to a country.

Which countries do you work in?

We take on clients worldwide, subject to the restrictions above. Our market pages cover rules and channels in the EU, UK, US, Gulf, Latin America, India, Japan and Central Asia. If your market is not listed, ask us.

Which languages can we work in?

You can write to us in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese or Hindi. Tell us which language you prefer for meetings and documents in your brief; the contract’s language is agreed in the proposal.

Can you promise sales or profit?

No, and we would advise caution with anyone who does. We lower avoidable risks and give you numbers you can verify. Competitors, timing and your execution all affect the outcome, and no provider controls these.

What do you need from me to begin?

A few lines: what you want to sell, where, to whom and roughly how much you can invest. Add existing sales data, sketches or factory quotes if you have them. Send a brief; the first review is free.

Have a product idea? Check it before you buy stock.

Send a short brief. We tell you what we think, including when we think you should not do it.

Tell us about your brand

A few lines are enough: what you want to sell, where and to whom. We reply with an honest view of feasibility, the stages you need and the next step.

  • No obligation: the first review of your idea is free
  • If we think the idea will not pay back, we say so
  • Your idea stays confidential; we can sign an NDA
